Another simple video this week about (finally) starting with the icon changes. I’m still working on the one’s for Amelia and those won’t probably be done until the end of October or the beginning of November.
I feel like I’ve gotten so much done but there’s still so much to do. Especially in terms of art that needs to be added. The pixel art is all pretty much good to go but there’s a lot of pictures that have to be made and I’m not exactly looking forward to it…
Art always makes me really mentally exhausted for some reason. Much more than coding.

Text font!
I did it a while ago and you can see it in the CC video I posted last week if you compare it to the old CC video here. I think the font is much better so I’m happy with it!
If you haven’t noticed already, a lot of the stuff I’ve been showing has been mostly the same kind of images and content. That’s because as much as possible, I want the game’s contents to be a surprise and let people discover the most important and interesting parts themselves.
In these next two and a half months, I’ll be trying to post new but not really big content. I’ll try to keep it as interesting as possible but as I’ve been working on some really awesome parts of the game and comparing it to what content I’ve felt is okay to post about, it’s hard for me to tell if it’s really boring or not…
That being said, I’ve already kind of run out of ideas for weekly videos to post along these weekly updates…But maybe some inspiration will hit me before next week.
Regardless, I’m still really excited for what’s been happening and what I’ve been able to get done so I want to keep posting things so that I can bring as many new people in as possible!
I started re-working on Wise Fools Game about three months ago and started with the biggest change that I wanted to make.
Re-doing the character creator.
Now keep in mind, I started this demo/prequel in the summer of 2016 when RPG Maker MV wasn’t being used by a lot of people yet, so there were very few plugins and tutorials for this kind of thing.
So coding this was and still is a mess, but now it’s at least a little less of a mess.
Maybe in a different post, I’ll go over some of the things that I love and hate about RPG Maker to sort of explain my terrible coding skills. Lol.

The basic idea for the new CC was to make the UI less linear and less annoying to start over.
And I do think that I was able to achieve that so I’m satisfied with the result.
The real CC in the full game will be much better thanks to the amazing plugins that have be developed over the last two years. It’ll also be the first thing I’ll be working on after the demo has been release.
And as much as I would love to implement a lite version of a better CC using the plugins, I also just want the demo to come out as soon as possible and I don’t believe that the limits of the one I’ve created will diminish the enjoyment or impact of the prequel.
When I started WFG, I thought about all of the games that I love and the reasons I love them. One of those reasons was the ability to make a character your own.
Even though, the demo is really limited, I still think that it’ll give a taste and feel for how I want the game to be for the players. So please look forward to choosing clothes, more colors, and more options over all in the full game!
Also, right now, I’m thinking of keeping up with videos for the Wednesday updates for the time being. If I can’t figure out any interesting content to record though I’ll keep it to screenshots.
Last small update, I’m in the home stretch of the needed pixel art!!
So a little inside to what’s been going on this week.
A lot of it, like I kind of mentioned before won’t be seen until after the prequel comes out in December.
But I’m well over halfway done with art for the biggest map in the game and also started diving into the dialog with Amelia!
Most of the big and important parts of the gameplay and the art in the gameplay were actually done waaaayy before this announcement two years before, so in a way, I kind of feel like I’m in the home stretch as far as gameplay coding is concerned.
Art on the other hand…
Well, it’ll probably be okay.
Next week, I’ll post a longer video about what’s changed in the character customization. Which was probably the most complicated part of the coding.
Tbh honest, it’s a huge mess up in there…

Finally after two years of on and off working, the Wise Fools Game prequel will be coming out December 21st of this year!!
I’d rather not get into too many details about the game. Like, what’s in it, how the game-play is and just sort of put it out there when it’s time. But before ‘life’ happened, there were a few things I wanted to put out there so I’ll be showing those things like that in the upcoming weeks!
Hey everyone! So I’m basically settled in my apartment now and so I’ve finally been able to start working on WFG again. And now I hope to start giving weekly updates again. It’ll probably mostly be in vague list though.
Changed the all the character sprite hair (I didn’t really like the fringe)
So…you may be wonder what happening to WFG. Well good news is I’m still working on it (slowly but surely) bad news is, I’m not sure when it will be out because I’m getting ready to move to another country (USA to Japan) so I just haven’t had the time to dedicate as much to the game as I would have liked to, but I promise that I’ll still be working on the game in the meantime!!
